Wear and Leakage Behaviors of Brush Seal Considering Eccentricity and Radial Deformation

Brush seals can improve engine performance by reducing leakage. Wear models of brush provide methods to predict wear and However, rotor eccentricity, radial deformation, hysteresis effect bristles are not considered systematically in the existing models, which may lead large errors some cases. To investigate influence rotor-stator eccentricity deformation on process leakage seal, a seal test was planned executed, air rates were measured at different testing times operating conditions, using eddy current sensors. The results showed that significantly affected behavior performance.
